WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY - Frequently Asked Questions

What is your approach to wedding photography?

  • I would consider myself a documentary wedding photographer which means I am looking for the natural moments between people throughout the day.  Of course I'm happy to capture group photos (it's a rare occasion when you have all your family together) and some portraits of the two of you.  I am unobtrusive yet respond quickly to capture those fleeting moments and emotions.  Fortunately these moments will happen whatever the weather does on your special day.

Can we meet you?

  • Of course.  I'm happy to meet up or discuss things over the phone or skype as we all want to ensure we're a good fit for such an important work relationship.  I can also visit the venue in advance if I think it is necessary though I always start early on the day to have a scout around for portrait and group shot locations.

How much are your fees and what do we receive?

  • Simple and open pricing: I offer one package for photographing a wedding from the bride getting ready on the day to the first dance (and a little after) up to 8 hours.

  • £1600 with the option of further photography into the evening at a cost of £60 per hour.  Travel and accommodation expenses where necessary and as previously agreed will be charged separately.

  • The fee includes my selection of full resolution digital image files on a USB flash drive allowing you to archive, print and share.

  • On average you can expect at least 400 processed photographs for a full day coverage.

When will we get to see our photographs?

  • Due to the care taken to individually post process each image to a professional standard, I ask that you allow around four weeks for the delivery of your images (maybe slightly longer during busy summer periods).

Do you provide images in colour or black & white?

  • I make creative decisions as I take the photograph and as I'm editing.  Some photographs will suit black & white better (often speeches where artificial lights can be unflattering on skin tones).

Do you work with other photographers?

  • Due to my unobtrusive style and ability to be in the right place at the right time, I generally work alone.  However, if it would be of benefit at a specific venue or logistics requires it, I do work with a second photographer, though this would incur an additional fee.

Are you fully insured?

  • Yes.

Where do you work?

  • I am based in London and work often in Devon, but am happy to travel to weddings within the UK and abroad as my schedule allows.  For weddings outside of the M25 there is a charge of 45p per mile.  If the drive is longer than 1.5 hours I may require overnight accommodation.

What equipment do you use?

  • I use professional Nikon equipment and always have a back up.  Photographs are instantly backed up in camera with dual memory card slots.

How do we book?

  • Great! I'll send you a wedding agreement and an invoice.  A deposit of £350 is required to secure the booking with the balance due one month before the wedding.
